Peggy Guggenheim & Edmondo Bacci: colore e luce

In the 1950s, among the narrow streets of Venice, an encounter takes place that is destined to leave a mark: the meeting between the then-unknown artist Edmondo Bacci and the legendary American collector Peggy Guggenheim.

Introverted and shy, Edmondo Bacci emerges in the film through his dialogue with Peggy Guggenheim and through the testimonies of the most important curators and collectors living in the lagoon city.

The documentary film rediscovers Edmondo Bacci’s spatial work, exploring his astral imagery—rich in color and energy, explosions and lights—so greatly admired by Peggy Guggenheim, within the context of the postwar Venetian Spatialist movement.

Featuring Luca Massimo Barbero, Karole P.B. Vail, Chiara Bertola, Gregorio and Denise Bacci, Laura Panno, Michele Sambin, Gabriella Cardazzo, and Inti Ligabue. Directed by Costanza Madricardo, music by Marian Mentrup.
