Maelstrom Project

In 2021 the MAELSTROM project received funding from the H2020 research program of the European Union to produce an innovative technology for marine litter removal. 

MAELSTROM created a robotic seabed cleaning platform, the system consists of a movable floating platform, a cable robot, a set of sensors, a drudge and a gripper. Based on the latest robotics and AI advancements, it allows to reach the seabed of lagoons and coastal areas to remove #marinelitter specifically macro #plastics.

Tested in Venice in September 2022, the Robotic Seabed Cleaning Platform will be presented during summer 2023 in dedicated events.
